The Douglas A-4 was designed by the famed Ed Heinemann. He created a simple, lightweight, and remarkably good-flying aircraft, which pilots loved. The Skyhawk was affectionately nicknamed “Scooter”, “Bantam Bomber”, and “Heinemann’s Hot-Rod”.
