The December 2020 Open Cockpit weekend takes place during our annual Santa Fly-In event! Admission is FREE for everyone this very special day!
Our gates will open at 10:00 a.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive around 11:00. Their actual arrival time may vary, depending on the weather. They will be leaving around 2:00 or whenever there are no more kids to talk to, so come early!
You’ll get to look inside historic aircraft, sit with Santa, and have a lot of holiday fun. Our Open Cockpit aircraft are the T-37 Tweet jet trainer and the HU-16E Albatross amphibian.
During the Santa Fly-In, Santa Claus flies into the Pacific Coast Air Museum on a helicopter to greet all the kids and listen to their Christmas wishes. There are lots of additional things to see and do during this very popular event.

Featured Sponsor: Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa #50
Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa is again sponsoring this event, by providing funds for helicopter fuel and other expenses. When your flying reindeer are unavailable, count on Active 20-30!
Helico Sonoma will be picking up Jolly Old Saint Nick at an undisclosed location and chauffeuring him to the Pacific Coast Air Museum. We salute Helico and its brave pilots!
Local radio station KZST will be making all the announcements during the event, and broadcasting it live on the air. It’s nice that all the Elves back at the North Pole will be able to hear a play-by-play as their boss makes his big appearance.
Finally, we thank Accent Printing of Santa Rosa for providing print services for our flyers and other promotional materials. Accent uses Santa-approved paper, Santa-approved inks, and Santa-approved Elf labor in their print shop.
Open Cockpit weekends at the Pacific Coast Air Museum are your chance to get up close to selected aircraft and look inside. We raise the canopies and open the doors to give you an unobstructed view so you can see what a genuine fighter plane, attack plane, transport, helicopter, or other type is like from the inside!
