*Due to the
short transfer time, I believe these organizations were
dealers. I know that Scranton Airways is the original
Piper dealer that sold 54Z originally to the Scranton Tobacco
Co. The CD records from the FAA included the transfer
document from Piper to Scranton Airways that indicated a fee
of $1.00. What a deal!
Major
events in the life of 54Z include having the engine replaced
with a Lycoming Factory Remanufactured engine in August of
1967. In 1970, a major overhaul of the airframe was
completed including an overhauled propeller. Most
recently, the previous owner performed a frame up restoration
which was completed in 1998.
