The Aeronautical
Corporation of America was incorporated in 1928 and was
the first company to build and market a truly light
aircraft. In 1941, the company changed its name to the
Aeronca Aircraft Corporation.
The L3 type aircraft
was produced for the U.S. Army Air Forces in a variety
of versions including the L3, L3-A, L3-B, and L3-C. The
Etchell aircraft is an L3-B version which they have
owned since 1956.
Detailed information on
the history of this particular aircraft is still being
collected. Please check back later.
