Iroquois
The official name for the Bell
Model 205 was "Iroquois" but the troops called them
Hueys. The classification of the aircraft was originally
HU for Helicopter, Utility and from that the nickname Huey was
born. Later the designation was changed to Utility
Helicopter, or UH, but the name stuck. This image shows our
Huey the way it was delivered to us (with the exception of the
red cross which we added). The paint show considerable
fading and that prompted up to update the entire aircraft.
