The Grasshopper

The Grasshopper was used by the U.S. Army as a light liaison and
observation aircraft during World War II. This example has been
beautifully restored by the Etchell family.

The Etchell L3-B Grasshopper is a beautiful example of this classic
WWII aircraft. Used for liaison, observation, and communication
duties, this aircraft type served in many roles during the conflict.
Produced by the Aeronca Aircraft Corporation, this tube and fabric
aircraft could operate from short rough fields allowing tactical
reconnaissance to be performed at the battlefields where it was
needed the most.
